Aaron Payne has spent his career in Maryland care — it’s the family business. His mother opened her first assisted living home more than 20 years ago, and Aaron grew up learning the work from the inside: caregiving, staffing, licensing, and what it takes to treat every client like family.

A graduate of Towson University, Aaron is Co-Founder and Administrator of Agatha Home Health and also operates A Good Life Assisted Living, a licensed residential assisted living home in Baltimore, just south of Towson. That combination — home care and assisted living under one family — means Agatha understands the full journey of aging, from a few hours of help at home to around-the-clock live-in care.

Aaron is also the founder of The Care Insider, a training and resource platform for assisted living and home care operators, and an approved training vendor for Maryland’s Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) — the state agency that licenses and inspects care providers. In other words: the state trusts Aaron to train the people who run care businesses. That same standard shapes how every Agatha caregiver is trained and supported.

Before care was his full-time work, Aaron spent years in Baltimore’s hospitality scene — and many around town still know him from behind the bar. That’s where he learned the habit that defines Agatha today: remember people’s names, notice what they need before they ask, and take care of your regulars. He lives in Baltimore with his wife Marianne and their two kids, Scarlett and Teddy, who keep him grounded in why this work matters.
